The 2026 celebration also recognizes three exceptional leaders whose impact extends across our region. Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans receives the Dr. O’Neil D. Swanson Lifetime Achievement Award for a lifetime of visionary public service. Detroit City Council President James E. Tate, Jr. is honored as the 2026 Man of the Year for his steadfast leadership and dedication to the residents of Detroit. Isiah “Zeek” Williams, Founder and President of New Era Detroit, receives the Vanguard Award for his innovative leadership and transformational work empowering communities throughout Detroit.
