Rev. Darryl Williams

Reverend Dr. Darryl R. Williams is the fourth of seven children born to Vernon and Frances Williams in Chicago, Illinois. He is the product of the Chicago Public Schools System, graduating from Dunbar High School in 1979. He is honor graduate of Wilberforce University in 1983. He received his Master of Divinity from Garrett Evangelical Seminary in 1986. His peers chose him to deliver the Baccalaureate Address to the class. Reverend Williams completed his Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. His Doctoral Dissertation: “Preparing Churches to do Outreach to Their Communities”.

Dr. Williams is a third generation African Methodist Episcopal (A. M. E.) Preacher. Both his maternal grandfather and his uncle were successful pastors in the African Methodist Episcopal Church for over 50 years.
Dr. Williams has successfully pastored the Alexander A.M.E. Church in Evansville, Indiana (1986-1990), preventing a planned closure by the denomination, Vernon Chapel A.M.E. in Flint Michigan, where he led the congregation in the construction of 1.5 million dollar Family Life Center (1990-2004); the St. Mark A.M.E. Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he led the congregation in increasing their capital through the purchase of several rental properties (2004-2017); and the St. Stephen A.M.E. Church in Detroit where he has actively engaged the community and has been successful in creating relations with St. Stephen and the City entities (2017-present). He is a prolific writer. He has written two books: Give All You Can: A Devotional designed to increase Christian Stewardship and Draw Me Nearer: A devotional designed to develop intimacy with God.
He is married to Mrs. Laurelyn Williams since 1987. She was a successful school teach for over 30 years, and they are proud parents of Christina Noelle Williams. Christina works in Human Resources Mercy Health Care.
