T.I. earns Las Vegas residency gig

Most of the greatest entertainment acts in music history have landed residency in the Sin City. And recently, Grammy-winning and legendary hip hop acts have been added to the roster of prestigious hotels and casinos on and near the famous Los Vegas Strip.

You can now add “The King of the South” to the vaunted and exclusive list.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Clifford ‘T.I.’ Harris is the latest platinum selling rapper to land a Vegas residency gig.

The rapper-actor will anchor a monthly residency at Drai’s Nightclub at the Cromwell, the hotspot revealed to the L.A. Times. The officicial announcement is expected next week.

The Troubleman will kick off his exclusive engagement at the club on Saturday, with performances already scheduled through July. Additional performances will be announced later.

The residency gig for the patriarch star of “The Family Hustle” and boss of Grand Hustle label comes just weeks after announced he signed a distribution deal with Jay Z’s Roc Nation for his latest CD, “Dime Trap” and also joins the roster of artist co-owners of Jay’s fledgling Tidal music streaming service.

To celebrate the collaboration with rap royalty Jigga Man, Tip held a surprise concert at Atlanta’s historic Greenbriar Mall.

T.I. will be performing at Drai’s once a month for the next four months, the report states in the Times.
