A Midtown Detroit favorite is making room at the table for more local entrepreneurs.
313 Cinnamon Rolls, a woman-owned vegan “Cinntique” founded by Brandy Jackson, will launch The Weekend Collection at 313 Cinnamon Rolls on Saturday, Aug. 22. The new weekend marketplace will bring a curated mix of small businesses, makers, creatives and entrepreneurs into the bakery every Saturday and Sunday, giving customers another way to shop local while discovering the people and stories behind Detroit-area brands.
The launch comes shortly after 313 Cinnamon Rolls celebrated its first anniversary in Midtown. According to the company, the marketplace grew out of the sense of community that developed around the business and its mission to create meaningful opportunities for other entrepreneurs.
Rather than operate as a traditional vendor market, The Weekend Collection will feature a select group of businesses along with an invited guest business each weekend. And because 313 Cinnamon Rolls is proudly vegan, all food and beverages offered through the marketplace will also be 100% vegan.
“313 Cinnamon Rolls is a place where community, creativity, and opportunity come together,” the company said in the release. “Being active and available in our community will always be our #1 priority.”
The Weekend Collection is also a preview of what’s ahead. This fall, the business plans to launch The Residency at 313 Cinnamon Rolls, an initiative designed to give emerging entrepreneurs an affordable, temporary storefront environment where they can test concepts, meet customers and build their businesses without the expense of maintaining a permanent retail space.
