Campaign event with a new twist; Evans to donate all funds to breast cancer fight
DETROIT – Wayne County Executive candidate Warren C. Evans is hosting a fundraising event to support the fight against breast cancer at 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11 on Detroit’s East Side. All proceeds from this event will be donated directly to the American Cancer Society.
“Our team is proud to stand up and contribute to the efforts of the American Cancer Society in the ongoing struggle to fund breast cancer research and services,” Evans said. “For those living with breast cancer, their families and the growing number of survivors, we will continue to pledge our full support to get people the help they need to meet their day-to-day challenges. We will fight to win so that we can end breast cancer.”
Also, as part of the ongoing observation of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Evans is inviting breast cancer survivors and those who love them to share their stories of strength, survival and courage for a collection of inspirational testimonials. Selected stories that honor individuals living with breast cancer will be shared as part of the event’s main program. Submissions should be sent via email to info@warrencevans2014.com.
A keynote address from former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm will be a featured highlight of the evening’s program.
Standard tickets will be available for $100, with $1,000 and $3,400 sponsorship packages available for admission to a VIP reception and photo opportunities with Granholm and other special guests. All checks and donations should be made payable to the American Cancer Society.
The honorary host committee for the event includes Debbie Dingell, Livonia City Council President Maureen Miller Brosnan, Dearborn City Council President Susan Dabaja and Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.
