Michiganders have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to register and vote at their local clerk’s office.

To be considered for eligibility in the the state of a Michigan, you must be:
- A United States citizen
- At least 18 years of age (when you vote)
- A Michigan resident (at the time you register) and a resident of your city or township for at least 30 days (when you vote)
- Not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison
Documentation showing proof of residency is required when registering to vote. Michiganders must have one of the following:
- Michigan driver’s license or state ID
- Paycheck or government check
- Current utility bill
- Bank statement
- Other government document
