Michelle Obama Coming to Detroit for Voter Engagement Rally

Former First Lady Michelle Obama will host the “When We All Vote” Rally in Detroit on March 27. The event takes place at the University of Detroit Mercy and is free to the public. This rally comes during one of the most important election seasons in our country.

In 2018, Obama created a PSA for “When We All Vote,” encouraging citizens to vote. “Help us start a conversation in America about being active participants in our most basic American responsibility… voting,” said Obama.

Obama launched “When We All Vote” in 2018 along with other co-chairs Tom Hanks, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Janelle Monae, Chris Paul, Faith Hill, and Tim McGraw. Obama announced additional co-chairs Selena Gomez, Liza Koshy, Shonda Rhimes, Megan Rapinoe, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kerry Washington, and Rita Wilson in 2019.

The non-profit, nonpartisan organization aims to increase voting across age groups and societal backgrounds. The organization takes a grassroots approach, visiting cities across the nation to inspire citizens to vote during all elections.
