Eastern Market in Detroit is adding a new place for cocktails, gatherings, and Lions game-day excitement.
Detroit City Distillery has expanded 100 Proof, its 100-seat bar and event space next to the historic Whiskey Factory. The venue is now open to the public Monday through Saturday, with special Detroit Lions events planned for Sundays.
100 Proof previously hosted mostly Detroit City Distillery events and private gatherings. Now, visitors can enjoy the distillery’s local spirits and cocktails throughout the week.
This expansion comes as Detroit enters the busy fall season, when Eastern Market and Lions football draw big crowds.
“Opening 100 Proof to the public just made sense as we head into the extremely busy fall season,” said J.P. Jerome, founder and master distiller of Detroit City Distillery. “This gives people more opportunities to enjoy the spirits, cocktails and experiences we create right here in Detroit.”
With the new schedule, 100 Proof is open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday summer hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and may change.
On Sundays, Detroit City Distillery will host watch parties for away games and tailgate events for home games, celebrating the city’s love of Lions football. The exact times for Sunday events will be announced later.
This gives football fans another place to gather on game day and adds to Detroit’s craft cocktail scene. With Ford Field nearby and Eastern Market already popular for tailgating, 100 Proof is now part of the city’s lively Sunday traditions.
Besides its regular hours and football events, 100 Proof will still be available for private bookings and special Detroit City Distillery events.
Located at 1000 Gratiot Avenue in Detroit, the venue lets visitors experience the distillery beyond just the drinks. It pairs local spirits with the lively social atmosphere that makes Eastern Market a favorite gathering spot.
