‘Hartford Village’ to offer seniors community living in Detroit

Hartford Memorial Baptist Church and Presbyterian Village of Michigan are partnering together to build the first and only Premier Senior Living Community.  Hartford Village will be a gated community with state of the arts amenities. While it will be located in the city, the vision is to offer seniors a chance to experience a prestigious lifestyle without having to move to the suburbs.
Hartford Village will have an official groundbreaking ceremony on Thurs., August 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Northwest Activities Center, located at 18100 Meyers Rd., Detroit, MI 48235.  It is expected that Mayor Duggan as well as other political and community leaders will attend. The event is open to the public.
“Detroit does not have an upscale housing community for senior citizens that want to live in the city, but are not low income.  Hartford Church will fill that void with the first Premier Senior Living gated community right here in the city of Detroit,” said Dr. Charles G. Adams, senior pastor of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church.  “And, many of the units have already been reserved.”
Hartford Village will include 39 Independent Living Cottages with 2 bedrooms and two baths with 24 hour on-site security. It will also feature 45 Independent Living Apartments with 1&2 Bedroom floor plans, with all of the same amenities you would find in the suburbs.  This recent project is an example of the Hartford Church’s commitment to cutting edge community development.
“Giving back to the community is one of the most rewarding accomplishments I have known,” Dr. Adams said.
