The initiative is part of a broader movement to utilize Michigan’s “Clean Slate” laws, which have been designed to extend eligibility for record expungement to over one million residents in the state.

The event will commence with a welcoming ceremony at 10 a.m., featuring speeches from several dignitaries, including Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, Detroit Pistons Vice Chairman Arn Tellem, and James Cadogan, the Executive Director of the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition, among others. The summit is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Little Caesars Arena, located at 2645 Woodward Avenue, near the Comerica entrance.
