“Winning the Huntington Bank scholarship was the perfect gift on top of a very special year for me,” said Heiress Brame, Berkley High School. “All of the staff I have interacted with from my principals to the president of the bank were so supportive and extremely generous and I am truly grateful for that. Next year I will be going to college for criminal justice and during my time hope to continue my passion of theater and the arts!”
That sense of fulfillment was at the center of a May 20 celebration where 12 graduating seniors from Berkley-area schools were recognized at the Huntington Tower for their achievements and path ahead.
2026 Berkley High School scholarship program recipients include: Morgan Bayour, Jacob Herbon, Tierra Luckett, Taylor Pierrie, Skai Ramey, Olivia Church, Brianna Roeder, Bobby Wade, Heiress Brame, Mekhi Harris, Amanda Harvey and Aram Mouradian
Presented as a surprise to the students, Huntington Bank and Berkley Schools awarded $62,500 in scholarships to help students take the next step toward college and future careers. Now in its fourth year, the scholarship program has provided more than $200,000 in support to Berkley-area students that exemplify leadership and are involved in their school community.
Remarks from school and program leaders recognized not only academic achievement, but the character and commitment shown by this year’s class.
“One of the things that stood out most was the level of thoughtfulness and kindness these students showed throughout the process,” said Gary Torgow, Huntington Bank Chairman and Norup International (Berkley Schools) alumni. “You can see how much they care about their families, their communities and what they want to do next. Those qualities will stay with them as they take these next steps.”
As the program continues to grow, the focus remains on supporting students as they move forward, carrying their experiences, goals and sense of responsibility into the next chapter of their lives.
