A funny thing happened on the way to getting “R&B Divas” sexy soul singer Meelah Williams onstage during “ATL Live on the Park”: a nightclub party broke out.
Before a single silky vocal could pour out of Meelah’s ruby red lips, the estrogen-dominated crowd swayed to the tunes of DJ Mars, who cranked up the noise to a nice high decibel that shook people out of their seats.
Produced by Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols and anchored by the house band Quinn and Jukebox, the night’s spotlight was Meelah from 702 who cranked out renditions of the hits that made the group famous in the 90s.
She shared stage time with powerhouse singers George Tandy Jr. and Denesha Nicole. Radio personality Kenny Burns hosted the affair along with hip hop legend Chubb Rock and the evening was sponsored by Crown Royal, Belevedere Vodka, Magic 107 and W Hotel.
