Amber M. Lewis, known online as Social N The City, is on a mission: bring the booming $250 billion creator economy to Detroit and keep it here.
Tired of flying to New York and D.C. for influencer opportunities, Lewis decided to flip the script and turn Detroit into a destination, not a detour. Through her company, Social N The City, she’s building a full-blown creator ecosystem in the Motor City with the kind of gusto Motown legends would applaud.
“Detroit has incredible talent,” Lewis said. “We just lack the infrastructure. I’m here to change that.”
With a lineup of curated events like Influence 101 at Bamboo Coworking, an influencer mixer at the sleek new AC Hotel, and a private creator dinner for Detroit’s digital elite, she’s proving you don’t need to leave home to level up.
Linktree took notice, partnering with Lewis on her first event, featuring her in a campaign, and even throwing her face on a Times Square billboard. Not bad for a hometown girl with a hashtag.
Lewis also launched the #SNTCCreatorExperiences program, giving local creators front row access to cultural gems like the Detroit Opera and Movement Music Festival. And she’s not stopping there. Her Influence 101 eBook and digital course are helping emerging influencers monetize and master the game.
This summer, she’ll represent Detroit as a featured advisor at Create & Cultivate in Los Angeles, the world’s largest gathering for women in business. Because when Detroit shows up, it shows out.
With national partners, global vision, and Motor City hustle, Lewis is putting Detroit creators on the map, one reel, one workshop, and one opportunity at a time.
