Former NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire has denied allegations of hitting his teenage daughter after he was arrested on battery charges on Sunday (December 18).

According to Miami-Dade County court records, Stoudemire is facing a misdemeanor battery charge following Sunday’s arrest, per ESPN. He was released later that day on a $1,500 bond and issued a no-contact order.

The police report, obtained by the Miami Herald, accuses Stoudemire of striking one of his two teenage daughters on Saturday (December 17) during an argument in his Miami home. The former 15-year NBA vet allegedly punched his daughter’s jaw, leaving her bloody, after she was “talking back again,” per the report.

Stoudemire’s ex-wife, who is also the alleged victim’s mother, picked up the two teenage girls along with their two brothers from the home and contacted the police.

According to the police report, when law enforcement arrived at the Miami home, Stoudemire told officers that his teenage daughter “was sad because she received a whooping from him for being disrespectful and a liar.”

The ex-basketball pro broke his silence on the alleged incident, denying the allegation against him in a Sunday night statement on social media.
