The Wayne County Department of Children and Family Services is partnering with the Institute of Population Health, Detroit Central City Community Mental Health, the Wayne County Third Circuit Mental Health Court, Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority and the Department of Health and Wellness Promotion to present the 2nd annual Community Health Fair.
This year’s fair will take place on September 9 at shed #3 of the Historic Eastern Market from 10 am – 3 pm.
The goal of this year’s event is to increase awareness through education and prevention. Fair sponsors will collaborate to provide a host of great services to the fair’s attendees.
These services include but are not limited to basic health screenings, immunizations and blood pressure checks. There will also be numerous vendors on hand distributing information designed to alert the community of the many health-related programs, services and providers located in the community.
“At last year’s event, more than 400 people took advantage of the health screens, immunizations and blood pressure checks,” saidWayne County Executive Robert Ficano. “We are hoping to have more than 600 people participate in this year’s event,” he added.
This event is open to the public and will be held rain or shine. Free onsite parking will be available to all participants.
