UPDATE: No one picked the winning numbers in Wednesday’s $360 million Powerball drawing, The Associated Press reported. Saturday’s jackpot has now jumped to $475 million[1].
The winning Powerball numbers[2] for May 15 are: 2, 11, 26, 34, 41 and the red number is 32.
The jackpot in the multi-state lottery soared to $360 million[3] after no one matched all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing. However, five tickets in 10 different states matched five numbers, winning prizes of $1 million each.
Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is the third largest ever[4].
The last major Powerball grand prize was $338 million, which was won in March by a former bodega owner from New Jersey. In addition to settling child support payments[5], Pedro Quezada announced he would pay his neighbors’ rents[6] with his winnings “for at least a month,” a friend said.
The largest Powerball jackpot ever was $587.5 million, split by two winning tickets in November 2012.
The odds of winning the Powerball lottery jackpot[7] are 1 in 175,223,510.
