Will Leather Goods Detroit joins Detroit's Midtown family of stores

WillsLeatherWill Leather Goods opened a new flagship store in Midtown Detroit during the first week of January 2016. The Midtown store, a 9,000-square-foot “concept space” was once a  grocery store named Tomboy—that comes complete with a coffee shop and art gallery. It’s a vast yet warm retail concept store that manages to celebrate the neighborhood and showcase the brand for the first time in the Midwest.
Midtown’s Will Leather Goods Features Hideaway Café and Toast Bar
Detroit shop is the first of Will’s seven locations to feature a full cafe and serves coffee from Tailored Coffee Roasters in Eugene, Oregon. In addition to four single-origin coffees and espresso blends, the store has its specialty Will blend developed by founder Will Adler. The café area also offers a toast bar with Slow Jams products, as well as cakes and pastries from Holiday Market.
Will leather is also following in footsteps of Shinola and Third Man Records with the return of manufacturing straight outta of Detroit. The store features a weaving machine in the space that turns fabric from reclaimed rugs into handbags and belts. There’s a make your belt station, personalization area and custom hats that receive their finishing touches with a little Detroit swag.
The price point on items varies from low-end $30 leather keychain rings to the upward hundreds for larger leather items. Public opinion continues to change with the looming gloom of gentrification and affordability of stores of this nature in the Midtown College section of the Detroit. Several of those starting to frequent more in Detroit view the use of the abandoned old supermarket as nothing but progression.
Will Leather Goods is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, visit willleathergoods.com
