Whitney Lewis

Whitney Lewis is a passionate communications and marketing professional with over a decade of experience creating strategic campaigns for organizations within healthcare, nonprofits and governments. She was appointed by Wayne County Executive; Warren C. Evans in 2017 and serves as the Director of Communications for the Wayne County Department of Public Services. The Department of Public Services is Wayne County’s largest department including Parks, Roads and Engineering divisions. Whitney is responsible for the department’s communication and marketing strategy, crisis management and functions as the lead media spokeswoman.
Whitney is a proud graduate of Howard University where she received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a master’s degree from American University in strategic communications. A heart for the community, Whitney also commits her time to her nonprofit, The Connection Network –a networking and mentoring organization for professional women of color, serves on the board of The Torch of Wisdom Foundation and is a member of Detroit Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She is also the co-owner of Boiling Point Detroit —a seafood boil catering company!
