What's The Temperature?

Conversations and questions about the temperature or weather, happen daily in your community and are expressed by the meteorologist on TV. If you live in Michigan like me, then you know it’s likely to be hot, cold, rainy, snowy, or windy in a span of a few hours. The deeper concept of temperature that I’m referring to, isn’t solely segmented based on degrees, it’s primarily about decisions.
Your approach to life must be like a thermostat, rather than a thermometer. A thermometer merely reflects the temperature, but a thermostat sets the temperature. You are not here to reflect the circumstances and situations that surround your life. You’re here to set the atmosphere and change the climate, of the circumstances that you face.
Too many people are fickle and fair-weather. They’re only happy when things are going well and the sun is shining at a balmy 82 degrees. Some people only feel good, when their name is being called and when they have red bottom heels on their feet.
Can you still find solace in the storms of life, when it’s cloudy, rainy, and frigid? Can you still remain positive, in negative situations? Yes you can, when you know this too shall pass. Simply because happiness is based on what’s happening around you. However, joy becomes the standard to shift the temperature and set the atmosphere for your life, based on what’s inside of you. It’s not about what’s on you or around you, it’s about what’s in you that gives you the victory!
You don’t need fair-weather friends, you need someone to stick with you through thick and thin. Fickle and fair-weather folk, allow their situation and space to dictate to them, rather than dictating to their space and situation. Who is in control? You or your circumstances? Stop telling God, how big your situation is and start telling your situation, how big God is in the midst of it! Now that takes faith! It doesn’t have to be gigantic faith, because all you need is mustard seed faith to speak to your situation. Your confession will ultimately determine your possession, or lack thereof.
Don’t be reactive, be proactive. You’re not a responder, you’re an initiator…you’re not a thermometer, you’re a thermostat. When the temperature is extremely frigid or fiery, just know that victory is on the way. I don’t know what the temperature will be tomorrow. I don’t know the circumstances that are ahead for tomorrow. However, when you know who holds tomorrow, you won’t have to worry. Just like a thermostat, the atmosphere is already set for your victory!
