The Wayne State University Fashion Design and Merchandising Organization (FDMO) is hosting the annual Spring Fashion Show at The Charles H. Wright Museum. The event will take place on May 9, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The cost of admission is $10 with a student ID, $15 for a general admission and $25 for VIP. Tickets can be purchased through the FDMO website at www.FDMO.org, or in room 2135 of the Old Main Building on Wayne State’s main campus.
The theme for this year’s show is “expressions,” and will feature ten student designers who will show off their best work. Each designer will use their full artistic and creative skillset to showcase fashions that will be shown exclusively on the runway.
This year the fashion show will also feature the winners from the student design challenge. Students were given the task of transforming a men’s white dress shirt into a women’s dress that will be worn on the runway. A jury selected the winners, and the top designs will be presented throughout the fashion show.
Students and designers have raised money to host the show through events and fundraisers over the past year. Students have taken much time and effort to design the clothing that the models will be featuring on the runway. You can expect a well-organized show that displays a mixture of high fashion and ready to wear styles.
The Fashion Design and Merchandising Organization was founded in 2008 to give students real life experience within the fashion industry. Their mission is to house and develop student talents to connect with the world. Since 2008, The FDMO Fashion Show has grown and successfully showcased many student talents, leading them to obtaining work in the Fashion and Merchandising industries.
