Trevor Noah dedicated some of his final words on The Daily Show, which he hosted for seven years, to Black women.
On Thursday (December 8) night, Noah hosted an emotional farewell episode of the late-night show where he addressed his fans and critics for one last time, per HuffPost.
Black women were the focal point of his final goodbye to the show, especially his mother, grandmother, aunt, and others who have supported him over the years.
“If you truly want to learn about America, you talk to Black women,” Noah said on Thursday’s episode. “Because unlike everybody else, Black women can’t afford to fuck around and find out. Black people understand how hard it is, when things go bad, especially in America, but any place that Black people exist.”
“When things go bad, Black people know that it gets worse for them,” Noah continued. “But Black women, in particular, they know what s**t is, genuinely.”
The late-night host said talking to Black women could help guide those looking for the best or fairest way to do something in their lives.
A new host has not been named for The Daily Show, per the HuffPost.
