Three, Two, One … Countdown to the Ford Fireworks

The Ford Fireworks will awe viewers for its 63rd year on Monday, June 28 in a special, broadcast-only show on WDIV-Local 4 and ClickOnDetroit, 9-11 p.m. ET. This year’s 26-minute world-class fireworks show, made possible by Ford Motor Company and produced by The Parade Company, is one of the largest shows in the event’s history and the 2021 Ford Fireworks will take to the sky just after 10:00 p.m. as one of America’s most celebrated fireworks displays. The fireworks show will not take place in the traditional location of downtown Detroit due to the pandemic and is expected to return in 2022. The Parade Company has partnered with Huron-Clinton Metroparks at the Lake St. Clair Metropark location for this year’s broadcast-only show. The park will not be open to the public on Monday, June 28.

“We are incredibly proud to bring our region the 2021 Ford Fireworks and have created one of the most spectacular shows in our history to celebrate what is so special about our community,” said Tony Michaels, President and CEO, The Parade Company. “This event has brought us together as one for over six decades and we are grateful to Ford and all of our remarkable partners including WDIV Local 4 and Huron-Clinton Metroparks.”

As part of this year’s show, the automaker’s philanthropic arm, Ford Fund, will honor and thank teachers, professors and school counselors who have gone above and beyond for students throughout the COVID pandemic.

“Ford is honored to be a longtime supporter of this annual event that celebrates and unites people and communities across Southeast Michigan,” said Mary Culler, president of the Ford Motor Company Fund. “During this year’s fireworks, we are hosting teachers and educators throughout Metro-Detroit who have done so much to help our youth get through this challenging year.”

The 2021 Ford Fireworks is themed, Turn the Page. The Ford Fireworks is produced by The Parade Company and is in its 63rd year as a beloved summertime tradition. The Parade Company selects the musical arrangement and works exclusively with Zambelli Fireworks and international choreographer Patrick Brault to stage over 10,000 pyrotechnic effects. The Ford Fireworks is the largest display in the country for Zambelli Fireworks.

The Parade Company expects an exciting return to Detroit for the Ford Fireworks in 2022. This year’s Rooftop Party presented by Ford will not occur. For details, please visit theparade.org.
