Tarshena Armstrong was named Business Planning Manager for General Motors’ Chairman & CEO in October 2020. In this role, she works directly with Mary Barra, GM’s Chairman & CEO to implement best practices and learning plans to meet business objectives. Additionally, she’s responsible for leading portfolio studies and other project assignments within the Global Portfolio Planning organization.
Previously, she served as Business Planner, Buick and GMC Sales, Service and Marketing.
Armstrong has demonstrated professional excellence within the Automotive industry. She’s held several critical regional assignments including supporting the Buick & GMC Dealer Network and its execution of the first–ever Black Friday Select Model 20% incentive program.
Armstrong joined the GM family in 2007 as a marketing intern with the Service Parts Operations (CCA) as an associate analyst with ACDelco & Goodwrench.
Early this year, Armstrong was featured in Working Mother’s Magazine representing GM as the Best Companies for Multicultural Women. She also participated in GM’s Bootcamp – a initiatives for high-potential women; to maximize their presence and impact.
A native of Flint, Mich., Armstrong holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Wayne State University, with a concentration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan.
