The city of Southfield Parks & Recreation Department and PGL Sports will hold a Youth Basketball Skills Challenge on Saturday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at the Beech Woods Recreation Center, 22200 Beech Road one block south of Nine Mile Road. The Challenge is open to boys and girls ages 7-18-years-old with separate groupings for gender and age as of June 1, 2013. The Youth Basketball Skills Challenge will include three contest areas: Obstacle Course, Hot Shot and Free Throws as well as a Parent & Child Team Basketball Skills Contest. Awards will be given to the top two finishers in each age division.
Entry fee is $10 per player or parent/child team and includes an event t-shirt. Registration is open until June 22 at the Beech Woods Recreation Center. Please bring a copy of the child’s Birth Certificate for age verification when registering.
