Shop small in GRANDmont Rosedale on Saturday, Nov. 27

Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation (GRDC), a nonprofit community development organization serving the Grandmont Rosedale neighborhoods of Northwest Detroit since 1989, is pleased to announce its fourth “Shop small in GRANDmont Rosedale” to take place on Saturday, November 27 from 10 am  – 4 pm in the parking lot at 19505 Grand River.

This year’s Shop small in GRANDmont Rosedale features over 20 vendors who offer locally made and locally sourced gifts and food ideas for holiday shoppers. The vendors will be gathered in the parking lot of 19505 Grand River, the site of a new, mixed-use senior housing and retail space coming to  the heart of Grandmont Rosedale. Along with holiday shopping, Santa will visit and there will be crafts for kids and adults, food trucks, raffles, a DJ, and pre-rehab tours of the historic apartment building on West Outer Drive that GRDC recently acquired will also be available. There will be stairs on the tour. There will be an opportunity to nominate members for the advisory board to help plan programming in the community space in the coming mixed-use building. Many businesses along Grand River will also be decorating their store front windows for the holidays. Some Grandmont Rosedale businesses that will be participating in this event are: Detroit Vegan Soul – West, Pages Bookshop, Spa-A-Peel Studio, Norwest Gallery of Art, The Garden Bug, Cutz Lounge The Grooming Shop, and Public Square Detroit. Shoppers will also have the opportunity to support local, small businesses and the parents at Brilliant Detroit Brightmoor by donating self-care services.

Shop small in GRANDmont Rosedale has become an annual holiday event eagerly anticipated not just by Grandmont Rosedale residents, but by shoppers from all over metro Detroit. “Grandmont Rosedale is a destination community – a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family,” remarks Becki Kenderes, Program Director of GRDC. “GRDC has played a significant role in stabilizing the housing market, attracting and retaining thriving businesses, and revitalizing the commercial corridor. Shop small in GRANDmont Rosedale is an opportunity for Grandmont Rosedale residents and the many supporters of Detroit neighborhoods to spend their holiday dollars locally.”
