The Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion, Race2Equity Project

The Michigan Roundtable is presenting a series of impactful monthly Race2 Equity community conversations. The next session will feature a discussion around education with a World Cafe style discussion with six to eight different hosts engaging in conversation around a variety of subtopics on race and education. Parking is free. Light refreshments will be provided and forums will continue the first Friday of each month through November 2013. The Race2Equity project is a campaign to demonstrate why racial inequity continues to have an impact in southeast Michigan and statewide. This awareness is intended to support the efforts of the Metro Detroit Truth and Reconciliation Commission and encourage implementation of their recommendations. This event is free and open to the community.

When: 6-9 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 (and Friday forums will continue through November 2013)

Where: EAA Southeaster High School, 3030 Fairview Street, Detroit, Mich. 48214

The Race2Equity project will illustrate the current repercussions of racial inequity in southeast Michigan and statewide and create awareness around this critical issue. This awareness is intended to support the efforts of the Metro Detroit Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission is independent of the Michigan Roundtable and will be exploring issues of racial inequality in Metro Detroit.
