His recent death was tragic, sudden, and still perplexing to the friends and family of beloved Cass Technical High School coach Dennis Smith, Local 4 reported.
According to the published report, Smith, 46, affectionately known as “Coach Smitty,” was shot and killed May 5 on Livernois Avenue.
Surveillance footage revealed an unknown suspect firing off the weapon after first entering a nearby restaurant.
“He was more than just a football coach,” said Maria Adams-Lawton in the article.
Smith has several children that he leaves behind.
