The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), is holding a press conference at 10 AM Friday, June 14, at Chosen Generations Community Center, 2326 East 7 Mile, in Detroit. The media event Friday is to promote the new Step Forward Michigan Faith Partnership, a free MSHDA program that helps at-risk homeowners avoid foreclosure, and to kick off a free Step Forward Michigan and Tax Foreclosure Assistance Housing Fair that starts at 10 AM Saturday, June 15. For the first time, MSHDA and Detroit-area faith leaders (many of whom are identified in the media advisory attached and pasted below) are launching a new Step Forward Michigan Faith Partnership initiative to help local residents in danger of losing their homes.
State Sen. Virgil Smith, State Rep. David E. Nathan, and Detroit City Councilman Andre L. Spivey will attend Friday’s press conference. The Rev. Ben Sandin of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Shelby Township, the Rev. David Buersmeyer of Saints John and Paul Catholic Parish in Washington Township,the Rev. Becky Bolander of American Lutheran Church in Clinton Township, the Apostle John C. Harvey of Serenity Christian Church in Hazel Park, and the Rev. Dr. Steve Bland Jr. of Liberty Temple Baptist Church will also attend.
