Free outdoor movie series at Campus Martius Park offered Saturday evenings through August;
special screening of Cars 2 on Friday, Aug. 6, with a free, live “Michigan Philharmonic Goes to
the Movies” orchestral concert featuring the scores of popular films
WHAT: Back by popular demand, Movie Nights in the D returns, courtesy of the Downtown Detroit Partnership and sponsored by Capital One Café with support from Faygo and McDonald’s. Every Saturday at 8 p.m., movie lovers and families can enjoy award-winning films for free outdoors on the big screen at Campus Martius Park.
This summer’s schedule includes eight weeks of movies and kicks off July 10 with a showing of The Photograph, a 2020 American romantic drama.
Attendees can bring a chair or blanket to set up on the lawn for a relaxing summer evening set in the heart of the city. Popcorn is available for purchase courtesy of sponsor Detroit Popcorn Company.

SHOWING: A special screening of Cars 2, celebrating its 10th anniversary, will be shown on Friday, Aug. 6, as part of the Motor City Car Crawl festival held throughout six Downtown Detroit parks. Prior to the showing, movie-goers can enjoy a free, live orchestral concert from the Michigan Philharmonic called “Michigan Philharmonic Goes to the Movies” and features the scores of popular films.
