If there was ever a time to fill up your gas tank in Michigan, it’s now.
Officials at the American Automobile Association say gas prices have dropped cents in the past week.
Michigan’s gas prices are averaging $2.06 per gallon, identical to last month’s prices, but 62 cents below what they were last fall.
In a report from the Energy Information Administration, demand for gas decreased last week.
“Pump prices will likely continue to decline as demand drops due to fewer road trips taken in the fall,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA – The Auto Club Group.
Drivers across the state are seeing a decrease in gas prices, but some are reaping the benefits more than others. Metro Detroit drivers are purchasing gas at $2.11 per gallon, sandwiched between Marquette, $2.29, and Saginaw, $2.08.
Lansing drivers see the cheapest averaged price at $1.92 per gallon.
AAA listed Michigan as one of 10 states seeing the nation’s largest weekly changes. The following states have also seen a drop in gas prices: Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Florida, Washington, and Wisconsin.
