Metroparks Preparing for the Labor Day Weekend

All 13 parks open. Beaches, splash pads and pools are open. Remember to social distance yourselves and check website for closures.

(Southeast, Mich.) –
All 13 of your Huron-Clinton Metroparks remain open this weekend for the Labor Day holiday. Park staff do encourage visitors to continue practicing social distancing and wear masks in bathrooms and all indoor locations.

“We are ramping up for what’s expected to be a beautiful holiday weekend, and we’re excited to welcome Southeast Michigan into the parks.” Says Amy McMillan, Huron-Clinton Metroparks Director. “We are continuing to monitor capacities in the parks and will put temporary park closures in place if we need too, so we encourage you to check our website for closures before heading out.”

The Metroparks began monitoring park capacities earlier this summer to support social distancing and are continuing to limit capacities to 60%.  When that capacity is exceeded, a temporary closure is put in place until some visitors leave, at which point the park or area is reopened.
