EUR was On The Scene at the hot Hollywood premiere of “Magic Mike XXL, “starring Jada Pinkett-Smith, Channing Tatum and Donald Glover.
EUR: Comments have been made about Magic Mike XXL and objectification…Talk about that…
Jada Pinkett-Smith: I don’t think its objectification at all. When you think about objectification, you have to really think about where the power is. All these men still have their power because they are autonomous, they are entrepreneurs, they are freelancers. They are in complete control of their bodies and their decisions. We get to understand the essence of these men, we get to know them as human beings. We just happen to also acknowledge how physically beautiful they are at the same time, but I wouldn’t say there is real objectification. We have to be careful on how we use that word.
EUR: Do you go to the strip club with or without a mate?
Stephen ‘Twitch’ Boss: I do not attend the strip clubs at all, but if your mate is (down for going), then strip clubs might be fun. I hear they have good food there!
Aisha Tyler: Without…I’ve been to a couple strip clubs male and female…and it’s always hard to make eye contact with whoever you’re with. It’s about your own internal fantasies and taking that stuff home and working it out. You can work it out on your mate afterwards. If one of you is more into it, than the other one, there is a fight…maybe it’s the end…No you watch somebody else then you make it rain at home!
Andie Macdowell: I’ve never been to a strip club…though I’ve been getting a lot of invitations recently. I’ve been invited by some really interesting people recently, Amber Heard said she was going to take me.
EUR: Obviously, there is a lot of dancing in Magic Mike XXL…was there any time on set where you got into the dancing vibe?
Jada Pinkett-Smith: I did…but I knew I couldn’t get too crazy with it because Channing was going to make me do something (more). So I just kept it real smooth on the DL!
