An award-winning communications strategist with expertise in bridging corporate and consumer worlds, Iman Jefferson leads General Motors’ east region communications for Buick, GMC and Cadillac. She plays a pivotal role in developing strategic messaging and storytelling opportunities for these iconic brands. Previously at GM, Iman led communications for Maven Car Sharing and Urban Mobility efforts.
Prior to joining GM, Iman worked in a variety of roles including managing external and internal communications efforts for U.S. Cellular, The Martin-Brower Company as well as stints with several advertising and public relations agencies in Chicago where her client roster included national campaigns with brands such as McDonald’s, Tropicana, HanesBrands. In addition to her public relations background, Iman holds a degree from Lincoln University in Missouri in journalism. She began her career as a journalist, with her work appearing in outlets including The Chicago Tribune, Black Enterprise, Heart & Soul and others. In her spare time, she enjoys serving as a mentor to many rising women of color in the field of communications.
