Let your fingers do the walking on your computer this Cyber Monday! Here’s NewsOne‘s guide to taking advantage of those deals that are to be had from online retailers who are battling to get your bucks.

Cyber Monday actually got its roots back in 2005 by a division of the National Retail Federation (NFR), the world’s largest trade association of department stores, specialty shops, discount and catalog outlets, grocery, and restaurant establishments. NFR members thought it would be a great idea to join the Black Friday boon by having consumers make online purchases on the following Monday and preferably from their work spaces where Internet connections would be faster.  Now the faster connection notion is an outdated one, as a reported 70 percent of folks have high-speed broadband[2] Internet service in their homes and on their phones and tablets.

Since 2010, Cyber Monday has been the biggest online shopping day of the year, and practically all retailers everywhere want to get as many dollars from you, the consumer, as possible! According to the Adobe Digital Index[3] 2013 Online Shopping Forecast, online shoppers are expected to dig into their pockets in a major way, $2.27 billion dollars, which would potentially increase profits 15 percent from last year.

What should you look to purchase on this glorious online shopping day?

Buying clothing, shoes, and accessories are a must on Cyber Monday. Retailers are offering tons of incentives and many are throwing in free shipping to boot.

Many of the apparel pricing is probably the lowest you’ll pay for the season on this day.

If you’ve been holding off on doling out the big bucks for appliances, today is the day to finally pull the trigger! You can scoop up HUGE savings on appliances like refrigerators, stoves, and washer/dryers. Be on the lookout for free shipping and rebates, which can save you even more money.

Think retailers offer their mega-deals on electronics on Black Friday only?  Well, think again!

Cyber Monday has some out of this world savings on TVs, stereo systems, and lots of other home electronics. As a matter of fact, many retailers will even slash their Black Friday specials even further to move out inventory.

OK, so the latest and greatest version of the iPad is not within your reach dollar-wise.  Why not get an older model at a price that is hard to pass up?  Many retailers will offer older versions of hot-selling gadgets for a super-price reduction.

Now go and light those credit cards up!!!
