The “Best Boxer” winner was announced Tuesday in Hollywood, California.
Claressa Shields dominated in the boxing ring in June when she faced her opponent, Marcicela Cornejo in 10 rounds in front crowd of nearly 12,000 fans at Little Caesar’s Arena.
It was the first boxing event hosted inside LCA since the building first opened in 2017. After powerful blows Shields would go on to accept the retaining title as undisputed middleweight champion.

The initial match between Shields and Hanna Gabriel were called off after Gabriel tested positive for a banned substance.
