Detroit Votes 2024, a non-partisan voter information campaign, organizes engaging and family-friendly activities that celebrate the arts and expression. This initiative, known as the “Feet in the Streets” project, promotes early voting options by hosting these events at the city’s 14 Early Voting Centers. During these local celebrations, voters can cast their primary ballots well before Election Day on August 6.

Michigan voters approved a constitutional amendment in 2022 that enables new early voting options, making it easier for younger voters to participate in elections. As a result of this amendment, Detroit voters will have the opportunity to cast in-person ballots in a primary for the first time. This development deserves attention and excitement as it encourages more people to engage in the democratic process and have a say in local governance.
