Easter Baskets, Giveaways Available in Westland

Wayne County Sheriff Raphael Washington and Dr. Chad Audi, Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, are teaming up to help local families enjoy a safe Easter holiday.  The duo are giving away brand new Easter Baskets and grade-school age games (while supplies last) to Wayne County families on Good Friday afternoon.

“We want families to know that we are concerned about them in these tough economic times,” said Sheriff Raphael Washington in a press release.  “Spring is a season of rejuvenation and Dr. Audi and I wanted to do something to support local families and bring a smile by way of Easter joy.”  Dr. Audi is generously providing the toys and baskets for the event at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol location.

“The fascinating smiles we usually see on the faces of male and female recipients of our educational toys and Easter baskets is priceless,” said Dr. Audi. “In this pandemic, people need a little more help, and it is a good thing to bring such help closer to them, which is exactly what we are doing on Good Friday.”

Masking and distancing protocols will be in place.  Parents who need a gunlock may request one at no charge.  The focus of this event is for everyone to have an enjoyable, safe, Easter observance.
