Dr. Lauren Walker

Dr. Lauren Elyse Walker has been a small animal veterinarian in the metropolitan Detroit area for 10 years. A native of Detroit, she is a graduate of Cass Technical High School. Lauren obtained her B.S. in Biochemistry and B.A. in French from Michigan State University. She then went on to the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After a brief time in a mixed-animal practice in western Michigan, Lauren returned to the Detroit area to focus on small animal companion medicine. In 2018, she became the co-owner and medical director of Colonial Veterinary Clinic. She has a passion for feline medicine and dentistry. Lauren is a member of the National Association for Black Veterinarians and the Black DVM Network. She is committed to mentoring aspiring Black veterinarians and exposing them to the many opportunities available in the field.
