Detroit’s Kash Doll Sells Out Opening Night of ‘The Last Doll’ Tour in Her Home City

It’s only fitting that Rapper Kash Doll would choose to kick off her ‘The Last Doll’ tour in the city where she grew up. And her hometown fans showed up for her selling out the Masonic Temple Theater in Detroit. Over 3,000 fans to be exact came out in the cold to show their love for the artist in her first headlining tour of her ten year career.

The show opened with performances by two other local female rappers, Detroit Barbie who was followed by Detroit Diamond. The latter is also a star on the Netflix reality show Rhythm + Flow. Both ladies kept the crowd engaged in anticipation for Kash Doll’s headlining set.

The audience, many dressed in shades of pink, didn’t have to wait long as soon after her schedule set time, the curtains raised and showcased Kash Doll in a life-sized Barbie box. Dressed in a silver sequin shorts jumper and heels to match, she was greeted by a theater full of screaming fans all on their feet, ready, and full of energy. In addition to the Barbie box, her stage was also set up to look like a Barbie house which included a makeup desk and mirror on one side and a closet with racks of shoes on the other.

Performing hits including ‘Ice Me Out’, ‘So Good’, ‘For Everybody’, ‘Love Myself’, and ‘Comfy’, Kash Doll entertained the crowd for over an hour, changing outfits multiple times throughout. After the sequin outfit, she turned heads as she came out wearing a pink robe, with a pink two piece lingerie set underneath complete with pink fishnets and pink heels. Later it was a pink shiny catsuit with Kash Doll inscribed across her chest followed by a pink velour outfit and hat paired with pink ankle length heel boots with sparkles and a full length fur coat (also in pink).

One of the most memorable moments of the show was when Kash Doll’s 2 year old son made a surprise appearance running out onto stage as she was singing the song “Baby Boy” that was written about him. Kash Doll also brought out another surprise, Detroit Rapper Dej Loaf, to sing on a song they collaborated on called ‘Ladies Leave Your Man At Home’.

‘The Last Doll’ tour, in which Kash Doll partnered with the Black Promoters Collective, will have seventeen stops in various cities across the country, with the first and the last both in Detroit. For those in the Motor City, if you missed this past weekend’s show and thinking you can catch her when she returns in March, you’ll have to have some luck in finding tickets as that show is already sold out as well.
