Detroit Speaks to honor city’s youth with inaugural Scholarship Soiree

Detroit Speaks, Inc. will host its inaugural Scholarship Soiree June 16, 2018 at The D Loft located at 9342 Jos Campau Avenue, with the initiative of shedding light on the scholastic achievement and entrepreneurial endeavors of Detroit’s youth.
The non-profit, which was co-founded in 2014 by millennial Detroit natives, Brianna Alexander and Danielle Hughes, will host a brunch-style scholarship banquet celebrating four years of charitable works in the city of Detroit, while highlighting the youth they serve. The duo will also present one deserving graduating high school senior with a $1,000 scholarship. Please see application details at:

Alexander and Hughes set out on a mission to equip youth ages 13-18 in metro Detroit with the tools to increase social awareness, community involvement, and achieve their dreams. Please check out the website here:
