According to multiple reports, including ESPN and CBS Sports, Detroit Mercy has fired head basketball coach Bacari Alexander.
He was a dismal 16-47 and 10-26 in Horizon League play in his two seasons with the Titans and was suspended earlier this season for seven games over a personnel matter.
Alexander was an assistant for Michigan for six years under John Beilein prior to landing the job at his alma mater. He played for Detroit Mercy from 1997-1999, helping them to two NCAA tournament berths. He played high school basketball at former Detroit powerhouse Southwestern in 1994.
