Detroit Crime Reduced By 7%

Detroit Police Chief James Craig said that the city ended 2013 with 333 homicides, not including 15 homicides deemed justifiable. Chief Craig says there were 53 fewer criminal homicides in 2013 compared to 2012 for a reduction of 14%.
Chief Craig said there was a 7% overall reduction in crime in 2013. He said he has set a “stretch” goal of 10% overall crime reduction in 2014.
