Central City Health (CCH) is a well-established nonprofit organization and Federally Qualified Health Center with a rich history of serving the residents of Detroit and Wayne County since its inception in 1972. CCH takes great pride in providing essential healthcare services to the community. As part of its commitment to promoting health and wellness,
CCH invites all residents to attend our upcoming Community Health Fair on Tuesday, June 25. This event promises to be an informative and engaging opportunity for everyone to learn more about leading a healthy lifestyle and access valuable health resources.
The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Eastern Market (2934 Russell Street), Shed 3, will allow residents to connect with healthcare professionals for free health screenings and consultations in medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare. All services offered at the health fair will be provided regardless of an individual’s insurance status.
Guests can look forward to indulging in complimentary hot dogs, chicken, chips, fresh fruits, and a selection of refreshing juices. In addition to the delectable spread, there will be lively games, vibrant music, and thrilling raffles with exciting prizes up for grabs. The Community Health Fair will also proudly showcase CCH’s Medical Mobile unit, a vital resource providing essential care to city residents. This event promises fun and entertainment for all, alongside valuable health resources for the community.
Dr. Kimberly Farrow-Felton, President and CEO of Central City Health, said the event is representative of CCH’s goal of bringing their services to the people, especially Detroit residents who most need their support.
“The integrated care approach we take at Central City Health goes far beyond the people who come into our clinics. We actively do outreach with our street team to reach the homeless population and other underserved populations in our city,” Farrow-Felton said.
CCH, which has multiple facilities in Detroit and is located at 10 Peterboro St. in Midtown, provides a comprehensive wraparound healthcare system focused on serving the most at-risk populations in Detroit and Wayne County, including individuals experiencing homelessness and those with HIV. The Health Fair focuses on the key message “Let’s Stop HIV Together.” To align with this theme, free contraceptives will also be given out at the Health Fair.
“This Community Health Fair is an extension of that mindset, as we welcome all members of the city who have health care needs to come out to our event and get much-needed, often overdue health care without worrying about cost.”
“Our partnerships with the city have helped boost our abilities to serve those who need our help the most. We look forward to continuing those relationships and seeing these leaders at our Community Health Fair event,” Farrow-Felton said.
