The holiday season is upon us and in the spirit of giving, the Cleveland Browns came to Ford Field and gave the Detroit Lions an early holiday gift – an NFL football victory.
“We relaxed,” said Andre Miller regarding Portland’s near slip to Detroit Wednesday, racking up 10 points and 11 assists for the Trail Blazers in their 87-81 victory over the Pistons. Miller had no excuses. Detroit was down by as many as 20 points in the second half, before turning up the heat to close to 78-77 with just over a minute left.
Although only a sophomore at Birmingham Seaholm, 15-year old Essence Biggs of Beverly Hills, Michigan is in step with the state’s veteran prep golfer. Biggs just won The MHSAA Division 2 Regional at the Paint Creek Country Club in Lake Orion, Michigan in October.
Baseball has a long and grand history in the Detroit Public Schools, albeit in recent years the sports has suffered. However, there is a man, not the only one, but one who has dedicated his life to keeping baseball alive in the inner city.
Sterling Heights – Detroit Public School League teams Crockett and Southeastern both lost in regional finals this past weekend. Both PSL schools put together quality and exciting runs at a state title and have nothing to be ashamed of.
AUBURN HILLS – The Pistons are trying to withstand injuries to two of its key players, Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton, while hovering around .500. Their early season plight is also magnified by the fact this team is full of new faces.
