BET’s ‘Baldwin Hills’ Star Gerren Taylor Dies at 30

Gerren Taylor from BET’s Baldwin Hills passed away recently at 30-years-old, ESSENCE reported. It was reported that she passed away in her sleep, the causes of her death are not known and have not been released yet, the article stated.

Ray Cunningham, also named Misster Ray from VH1’s Love and Hip-Hop, posted on social media about him mourning the loss of his friend. “Just got the worst news,” Cunningham tweeted. “I hate it’s on the internet already. RIP to my @BET fam, my babes Gerren (Baldwin Hills).” Cunningham was on BET’s College Hill reality series in 2006.

Ashley Taylor Gerren, professionally called Gerren Taylor, was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She is well-known for her star appearance in BET’s Baldwin Hills, a reality television series that followed the stories of teens from the Baldwin Hills area, according to the article. Gerren was also featured in America is Beautiful, a documentary released in 2007 about standards of beauty.

Gerren was also an entrepreneur and mother to a 7-year-old daughter.
