Award-winning recording artist and producer, Erykah Badu paid a $500 and was put on six months probation after being cited for disorderly conducton on Friday.

The citation stems from the “Window Seat” music video that was recorded in March at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas where John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. Near the end of the video, Badu began taking off her clothes while strolling the down the street.

According to a sworn complaint filed by a witness, several children were among the people present during her striptease scene as evidenced in the video. At the end, a naked Badu falls to the ground as if she has been shot, simulating Kennedy’s assassination.

Stating that her gesture was “grossly misunderstood,” she told Wanda Sykes when she appeared as a guest on her show in April, “John F Kennedy was a revolutionary; he was not afraid to butt heads with America, and I was not afraid to show America my butt-naked truth.”
