Sean Gray

Sean Gray is Senior Vice President of Small Business Services at the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC) and a member of the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents. He oversees a portfolio of small business programs including Motor City Match and the Detroit Legacy Business Project. The son and grandson of Detroit small business owners, Gray has devoted over two decades to the proposition that small business is the backbone of a just and prosperous city.

His career spans the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. A fellow of the German Marshall Fund, Gray has carried Detroit’s economic development story to international audiences across Europe and the Middle East, and remains committed to the dignity and self-determination of Detroiters through education and entrepreneurship.
