CONYERS, Ga. — Rap impresario 50 Cent was in the Atlanta area on Thursday promoting Effen Vodka as a way to begin to pay down his infamous lawsuit losses the past couple of months.
Fiddy appeared at the Sigman Bottle Shop in this east Atlanta suburb with the likes of NBA legend Dominique Wilkins and reality star Momma Dee of “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta.”
He owes $7 million to Lastonia Leviston for posting her sex tape online without her permission. Soon thereafter Curtis Jackson filed for bankruptcy.
According to Sandra Rose, The rapper asked a bankruptcy judge to keep the mount he is paid to endorse Effen Vodka private, saying the deal with the Holland liquor company has a confidentiality agreement.
“That contract is one of the significant ways that the debtor intends to pay back his creditors, and that contract must be protected so that the income stream that it generates for the debtor is preserved,” Jackson’s lawyer wrote in a motion to the judge, according to the blog.
Worse for the rapper, Jackson is also indebted to Sleek Audio $18 million in another lawsuit settlement that he lost.
Other than the powerful and gripping “Power” series (starring Omari Hardwick), 2015 has not been a good year for 50 Cents. In fact, he is having trouble renting out the mammoth mansion in Farmington, Conn., a 51-room grandiose estate that he hopes someone will stay in temporarily so that it can add to paying down his mountainous debts.
