Schools across the country have decided to go virtual to combat COVID-19 and comply with social distancing to flatten the curve. While there is a high demand for supplemented enrichment learning for students and parents alike, Friends In Technology has developed Virtual Tech Talk Tour. The virtual tour bringing the best talent tech has to offer. Virtual Tech Talk tour is a free event and will take place via Zoom on Thursday, April 30th from 2 PM- 3:30 PM eastern time for high school and middle school students and 6:00 PM – 7:45 PM (EST) for college students.
The virtual tour will give students access to individuals from some of the largest tech companies in the country. It’s designed to aid students in learning more about careers in technology and assist them in deciding whether it is a good fit for their goals. Choosing a career path is one of the most important decisions a student will make and being able to connect with individuals who are established in the field of technology and engineering is a head start.
Friends in Technology’s mission is to give underprivileged and under-served populations access to information about careers in technology by partnering with employees from tech companies and provide them the opportunity to share the successes they’ve acquired through their career journey. In addition to hearing about what it takes to make it in tech, students are also provided resources and engagement experiences for through access to internships, job shadowing opportunities, hands-on tech sessions
