Hon. Chastity Youngblood

Judge Chastity Youngblood is a native Detroiter, graduating from Southwestern High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University and her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School.

Prior to her judicial appointment, Judge Youngblood served for more than fifteen years as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, where she prosecuted serious felonies matters, including violent crimes and homicides. During her tenure, she also served as lead counsel in the exoneration of three individuals who had been wrongfully convicted for murders they did not commit and sentenced to life imprisonment.

In August 2025, Judge Youngblood was appointed to the 36th District Court by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan’s Access to Justice Policy Commission, and the State Bar of Michigan’s Representative Assembly.

She is the mother of two sons.
